Suburban gardens are an important food source for bats and they are good neighbours to invite to your garden as they eat biting insects like mosquitos!

Evening scented flowers and shrubs will attract insects for the bats.

The Bat Conservation Trust publish an excellent leaflet of how to create a bat-friendly garden (you will find it on this page)

Insect eaters might enjoy snack bar in the form of an insect hotel:

This can be a sculptural fantasy which will benefit the bats!

The important thing is keep this food fit for the bats to eat – don’t use chemicals in another part of your garden!

A Nectar Cafe for Butterflies & Moths is another idea – bats will not eat them all!

A good book on the subject is RSPB Gardening for Wildlife.
