Wimborne Town Council invited the River Allen Bat Roost to survey the town’s recreation ground for bats in the summer of 2015. Surprisingly, in such a managed landscape, we found 5 bat species and the Council decided to sponsor some bat boxes which we installed in two areas of the park. We also installed some bird boxes which are situated in areas of the park where natural nesting sites were very limited.
