Walnut Tree Field

Early in 2015 we were approached by Lytchett Matravers Beaver Group who offered to build some bat boxes for us. We were keen to find a site near to where the Beavers meet and discovered Walnut Tree Field in Sturminster Marshall. This small local nature reserve was a perfect location as we had already recorded many different species of bats using the riverbank of the Stour and the nearby churchyard.

Lytchett Matravers Beaver Group ready for action!

It is a great joint project as the Beaver Group already knew more about bats than any adult group we have taken on a bat walk.
